Our Leadership Team

Founder & CEO

David Brooks

With over 20 years of financial services experience, David has held various positions with BB&T, Deloitte, Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, and Volvo Finance, both in the U.S. and abroad. In addition to executing billions of dollars in debt transactions for BB&T, David has advised on M&A for corporate and private equity sponsors.

David graduated from Wake Forest University with a dual BS in Business and German, and he holds an MBA from Oxford University. A member of the CFA Society of Colorado, David has served on the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations, including leadership positions with the Manatee County Economic Development Corporation, Rotary Club of Nashville, and Red Rocks Credit Union.

President

John DeMoss

John is the President and Chief Financial Officer at Cirrus Secure. A serial entrepreneur, John has successfully built multiple companies across a variety of industries, including financial services and manufacturing. This diverse experience provides John unique insight as Cirrus grows to meet the desire of bankers to serve both themselves and their clients well. Having implemented CGMP at a manufacturing plant he helped build, John understands the value of process definition, as well as the tools necessary for an organization to scale. A true innovator, John gets especially excited about solving societal problems that address unmet needs and the opportunity to be a hero to those that need it most.

John received the CFA designation in 2007 as he launched his first company, DeMoss Capital, which he successfully exited in 2015. John has served on numerous nonprofit boards, earned a commercial helicopter license, raced motorcycles, done competitive CrossFit, and enjoys learning to rope cattle in his spare time. A proud husband of a beautiful wife and three lovely children, John is grateful for life and the opportunity to meet customers, investors, and new team members as Cirrus does its thing.

Director of Client Success

Aubrey McCarthy

Aubrey is the Director of Client Success at Cirrus. She has more than 15 years of experience in client success-related roles at companies ranging in size from startup to Global 500. She is passionate about Client Success, and it is her mission to make it easier for people to do their jobs well. Aubrey puts the Cirrus core values of Care, Believe, Deliver to work on a daily basis, always finding ways to improve the customer experience for her clients. She holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a BA from Colorado State University. When she’s not working, Aubrey can be found volunteering with the Junior League of Denver, trying new recipes, working on home improvement projects, or taking road trips with her family and two dogs.

National Sales Director

Alex Dean

Alex is the National Sales Director at Cirrus where he is responsible for sales growth, business development, and sales leadership. Prior to joining Cirrus, Alex served as Senior Business Development Officer at AFCO Credit Corporation, a subsidiary of Truist Financial. There he was responsible for new business development, onboarding of new brokers, and led strategic selling initiatives in the Central U.S. Alex has additional operations and development experience having worked with Kano Laboratories, Montgomery Bell Academy, and Central Parking System. Alex graduated from Belmont University with a BA in Mathematics. He has served on the Board of Best Buddies of Tennessee and is an active volunteer. Alex and his family reside in Franklin, TN. In his spare time, you can find him with his family, on the golf course, or the lacrosse field.

CTO

Brian Pieslak

Brian has been a leader in software development for more than 20 years, designing and building business management systems to support everything from small to midsize businesses, to large enterprises, as well as State and Federal IT. Brian graduated from Wake Forest University with a dual BS in Physics and Computer Science. In his spare time you can find Brian on a Tough Mudder course (he’s completed 24!) or dreaming of opening his own microbrewery.

Partner at Sedulen

CJ Patrick

As part of the development team at Sedulen, CJ is responsible for optimizing user experience utilizing his 20 years of experience in web design and development. As a partner at Sedulen, CJ has worked with many Fortune 500 companies in his career, helping to establish and maintain their web presence in an ever changing digital environment. Outside of Sedulen, CJ is an avid hockey fan, player, and coach to his children in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
